Lieutenant Brad Smith, AdministrationM.A., EMT-B Serving Since: 2010 A Lieutenant is responsible for the coordination of two or more functional teams that have similar scopes, overlapping members, or related functions. A Lieutenant will ensure resources are efficiently utilized, ensure consistent priorities are established, and will serve as a conduit between the teams and the administration. A Lieutenant reports to the Deputy Chief and supervises two or more Sergeants. In his capacity as the Lieutenant of the Administration Division, Lieutenant Smith supervises Sergeants in both the Training and Safety space as well as the Fleet and Facilities space, serves as the Quartermaster, manages staffing for public service and planned events, develops policies and standards, maintains personnel records and the division's budget, and administers the Probation and Field Training programs in conjunction with the Lieutenant of Field Operations and the Lieutenant of Search and Rescue.
